New Managing Director at Lapp Automaatio - Jyri Kontio

Krister Karlsson will leave as MD of Lapp Automatio, after 10 years in the company. Jyri Kontio, MD Lapp Connecto, will succeed him in his responsibilities as Vice President Cluster Nordic, MD LAPP Miltronic Sweden and Denmark and MD Lapp Automaatio in Finland.

Krister Karlsson joined LAPP in 2013. Previously, he had held various management positions in industrial companies such as ABB and Lenze. In 2016, he was promoted to MD of LAPP Miltronic Sweden and Denmark, in 2021 he additionally took over responsibility as MD of Lapp Automaatio in Finland.

”After ten fantastic years with LAPP, I have come to a place in life where I want to change my way of living, develop myself in areas other than those I encounter in my current job and get a better balance between work and private life. All the fantastic people I have had the privilege of working with and all the challenges that gave me the chance to learn new things and develop myself.” says Krister Karlsson.

Jyri studied industrial engineering and management at the University of Oulu in Finland and holds a Master's degree in Science and Licentiate in Technology. In 2021, he became MD of Lapp Connecto in Finland and Lapp Connecto Polska in Poland. Jyri has more than 20 years of experience of international business and management.
